My 5speed Conversion is Done!

Are we talking manual or auto here?

Has anyone here had any issues with the 5spd manual transmissions? I hang out with a lot of STi guys and they hate the 5 speed and claim that the gears are weak and prone to failure - at the same time they love the 6 speed manual trannys, saying those are rock solid.

Considering all the stop-n-go I do on a daily basis.. I don't think putting a manual tranny in my SVX makes sense... I would love to get one of the 2nd gen 5spd electronically controlled automatic transmissions they put in the 08 Tribecas

i reveled in this feeling for about 2 weeks.... then my car was stolen....

Ive noticed the WRX and STI 5 speeds will last if..... the people who seem to have them dont rev the hell out of them and drop the clutch.
When they launch them like that they strip 1st and 2nd gears.
I know guys going thru more than 4 gearboxs etc.
but i also know guys that drive there wrxs hard but dont launch them like that and are still in the original gearbox in them.
6 speeds seem to be bullet proof but are so expensive too.
