What have you done?

I intend to hit 40k. I want to fix the ABS, revamp the stereo system, get cams, do a little dent fixing, repaint, tint the rear, new struts, and a few other little custom things.

Good thing I'm not married.

ok..lets see if i remember..
car i bought for 3500$
had to change left downpipe that has the cat in it. rebuilt the compressor twice (once under warranty), and the alternator a few times (eventually i bought a second rebuilt alternator as a spare). needed condensor, bought it off ebay and it was shot before i got it, bought one locally for $350 used - had no other choice unless i was going to the dealership.. evntually had to replace the high pressure line (oem)/
new tires - bfgoodrich traction t/as
changed out vaccuum hoses under the manifold plenum..needed the idle purge selonoid (oem)-car sat for 2 weeks because of this one
original rad leaked, so i bought a used one, that one leaked eventually so i went with a PWR in the end.
hi flow cat, stebro....drill/slotted rotors.. new pads.
added tranny cooler. intersate battery
bought new oem struts and strut mounts on all 4 corners, motorsport lowering springs. replaced all 4 links rods( OEM), all 4 lateral rods on the rear end( OEM), both rear spindles( OEM)- car sat on a hoist for 2 weeks because it had to come from japan, all 4 wheel bearings (oem). upgraded sway bar bushings front and back from the group buy/ never installed the rear dif bushings. changed out all 4 cv axle shafts (OEM).
bought the little plastic lever on the driver side seat -oem (pull to let passenger to back seat)
...dammit..i used to have a list....
ecu tune stage 1. all three belts, motorsport lightweight pulley, crank seal and cam seals. dropped a jdm motor in it (when the head gasket went). k and n air filter. changed the spark plugs with ngk iridium ix. ....sunroof weather seal (oem)....compustar...voltage stabilizer
...i dont remember....all the little things like all the headlights, interior lights.. the dash illumination lights...speakers, cd/mp3 player
...something like that...
would be less if i werent' in canada though...i know you guys get parts much cheaper than i do up here..but pretty much everything were subaru oems. i know parts cost me more than the labour did in all this

I think he is refering to whether or not his car has 30k into it... I was confused by that at first.

I just added the text document I'm using to keep track, if anyone is interested in the breakdown. It's fairly user-friendly.
It's in the first post.

hey, well...i dont think anybody is looking to spend 30K on maintenance on a short time...less than 2 years
i think in my case i was pretty much restoring/rebuilding...but some things had to be done , not out of choice

you dont have to be single to get close to the 30k club, you just have to have that understanding "special" wife, and alot of available cash.

1 rebuilt tranny $4900
1 tranny cooler $100
2 mafs $250(1 well used and 1 gently used )
s/s lines $100 ( brake line devoleped a hole)
set of rotors $300 ( i know they dont warp the new ones just dont vibrate )
1 hood, fender, headlight , grill, fender support , bumper (all) $2800
1 Repaint said items $2200
1 car repaint ( to remove hail damage ) $6500
2 rear wheel bearings $150
anyway you get the idea

Two tone wheels, a high-pressure PS line, an ABS sensor, and front wheel bearing replacement cost about what I paid for my silver SVX, so now I drive it twice as often to get my money's worth.

Thirty grand on one... Geez; I like the SVX, but that's out there. I doubt I'm one-third of the way to that number with two, and that's purchase price, tires, oil, even gas.

I'm headed over to a mechanic on Wednesday to make sure everything's in proper running order :S

Asides from that I've done one oil change and just put on new brake pads. But umm reading all this is scary lol. I'm thinking of selling.

If you take care of your trans, windows, and don't get in an accident you'll be ok. I've replaced two windsheilds, I'm on my 3rd tranny, and I had some sweet body work done.
