My reply would be:

No, what I'm saying is for $8000 more when new you could have had a nicer interior, climate control, heated mirrors, a more comfortable ride, AWD, and oh yeah...an ounce of reliability. Now you can get all that and still save a pretty penny

...but then again I'm known for being a smartass

"Actually here are some specs... remember the SVX is v6 3.3 liter compared to the 5.7 liter Camaro

1992 LSL AWD:0-60 6.9, 1/4 mile 15.1, Top Speed 155

1992 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 6.7 15.2

Also if you go on KBB and look up retail value the subaru is worth over $2000 more

Not to mention driving in the snow"

The SVX is an H-6, and the top speed is said to be around 170mph (for '92 models anyway). There is a picture somewhere of a german SVX doing around 260kph (or 172mph) I dont think there is much of a difference performance-wise between our models and the European models either (I could be wrong though).

Why bother? To those guys, displacement, HP and exhaust dB are the only things that matter. They're also the first ones to wrap the car around a tree at the first hint of snow on the ground. And that crack about not needing heated mirrors is definitely from someone who lives well south of the snow belt. Check with any glass shop and you'll find out how just much business they make from broken mirrors after an ice storm. Some people get a bit carried away chipping ice off. If that guy actually lived in the snow belt, then he'd probably be one of those idiots who'd drive without making sure his views were sufficiently clear. That or he'd be calling you for a ride since his F-body would be stuck in the driveway.

Do yourself a favor and leave them be, because you aren't going to convince them with words. I wouldn't have thought of spending 30k for a Subaru back in 93 either, but I did after one test drive and understanding the value of AWD.

that was the most retarded thread I think I have ever seen... next we should compare the svx to maybe a dodge dakota....or perhaps a dump truck....

Comparing an SVX to a camaro is like comparing apples to oranges. They have two entirely different purposes; SVX: to get you through the snow with style; Camaro: to get you past anything but a gas station.

I have a '77 Vette sitting in the corner of my garage, I'm half tempted to sell it off and get an SVX. I love the vette, but I'm not sure if I don't love the SVX more

Where the hell did you find that slow time from? Was that a f'n L03 car? ...They are quite a bit faster that a 15.2 I own both a f-body and SVX.
I love my SVX and all...but no reason to live in a world of delusions.
