Worst...Sighting...Ever...

We've all had those sightings of an SVX that just looks like it should just be put out of it's misery, or the owners that could't care less about what they've got, other than "It's a car". Well, this one takes the cake.

On the way back from the Tri-State meet yesterday, on I290S in MA I saw what can only be described as a homemade SVX pickup! Basically, it was a '92 claret with everything aft of the doors and above the quater panel hacked off, and I do mean hacked. Just from the split second I saw it from the other side of the highway (I was going north), I could see how badly it was done. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Well, you all know there is only one possible course of action for blasphemy of this caliber: public execution! Simple...effective...justifiable. We need to make an example so this sort of thing never happens again.

Here is a professional bad artist's rendering of the abomination:

On second though, it isn't that bad after all. It closely resembles the hack-job they did to this poor SVX.

Thumbs up Whats wrong with it?

Why is everyone so appauled?. I have been thinking of this project for so long. My favorite cars were my 84 El Camino and my 94 SVX so how could I merger them? Whats the worst thing that could happen, I would end up with a baja. I can understand a bad hack job being distasteful but if done properly I think it would have a great market like the modern day El Camino( I believe its called a thomson made by chevy in australlia) and youd still have those sharp innovative McClaren Windows. Just my two cents though, I lie the mock up though.

My rendition. All windows still intact, small bed, Cut after rear side.

I think it should the rear glass removed and the sides extended. Not so pretty but totally useful.

I guess I would say that such projects are interesting undertakings, and could be really cool....but spare the svx as it is such a cult loved car, one in increasingly dwindling numbers to enjoy. Its a neat idea...just don't rape such a rare and beautiful car of its identity. IDK....food for thought

Just to clarify

The reason I thought of this project was because I ad bought a car that was totaled for rear end damage. Im no monster and would never think of harming a good SVX
