day of manufacture?
Inside the passenger door interior panel of my car is affixed a small, paper sticker -- similar to an old-fashioned price tag -- stamped 91 0527. Knowing from the data plate that the car was made in May of 1991, it's reasonable to conclude the "0527" signifies the 27th of May. What do y'all think?

It's possible, but I wouldn't call it conclusive. Try asking Subaru.

To clarify a bit-
This sticker is only present in SOME svx's. I was unable to locate it in my 95, however it was in place in my 92. There are a few places in the car that have specific date references, and they usually dont match up. I would say it's better to assume the DOOR PANEL itself was made on that date. Mike |

It does make sense that the sticker would apply to the part, not the whole. If you're right, that would narrow my car's "birthday" down to a handful of days at the end of May.
Thanks, dcb |
