1996 SVX LSI Mechanic's Special $500
Year: 1996
Model: SVX LSi VIN: JF1 CX8656 TH1 00495 Manufacture date:1996 Paint Color: Emerald green pearl Interior Color: Tan Miles: 149,108 Location: San Ramon, CA 94583 Options: LSi AWD or FWD: AWD Modifications: None Major service: Transfer case replaced, all wheel bearings replaced. Engine Condition: Worked well when last started. Maintenance Records: Available via Carfax I can also put you in touch with the mechanic Transmission condition: Good Glass condition: Mostly good. One impact divot (about 1 mm diameter) on front passenger windshield out of driver primary field of view. Type of tire and remaining tread: Kuhmo ECSTA SPT 225/50 R16; 0.20” tread. Type of wheels: Original 225/60 R16 Interior condition: splits in rear seat leather. Significant solarization of plastic. Body condition: 2nd paint job is fading. No other body problems. Known defects or problems: Needs new front left and right axle shaft bearings. This is why I stopped driving it. It’s not safe without new axle shaft bearings. AC compressor has a major freon leak; needs new compressor. Non-diagnosed electrical problem: Nothing turns on when ignition switch is turned to ACC. Likewise, it won’t start when the ignition switch is turned to start. It’s not a starter motor or engine issue. It’s an electrical issue—no power is present. A critter probably chewed up a cable after I stopped driving it. The screw for the shift release is frozen. I tried spraying it with various anti-freeze compounds, but I ultimately stripped the Phillips head screw. Comments about the car: Since the shift release is stuck and it won’t start, it can’t go out of park. You need to tow it on a flat bed truck or with vehicle dollies on all four wheels. In order to get it onto a flat bed truck, vehicle dollies are required. Asking price: $500 OBO. You tow from San Ramon, CA.
