Smokies and The Dragon

Where in N. Georgia is "The Dragon" people refer to. Is it the Russelton Byway or around 441/Dillard/Hawissee area?

actually the dragon is basically 129 up by the north carolina and tenessee border. there are some nice short twisty roads around the suches, ga area. the easiest way is to take 400 north and follow the signs to dahlanega, then follow the signs that lead to 11/129.

if you're going from the gwinnett area, you should be able to get there by going to 129 through gainsville.

i should be going up for a day trip sometime in december if you would like to go. it would be me, a wrx, and you if you're interested. i can make it from atlanta there in approx. 2.5-3.0 hours. i always go through the dahlanega/suches to get to the dragon. let me know if you're interested.

What can I say, it is the most beautiful, most perfect, awesomest, baddest, curviest road that I have ever been on in my life!!! Absolutly a blast to drive!!!! Nothing like it... The last time I went up there my girlfriend was trying to talk me into staying with her for the weekend....... Lets just say I passed up a threesome with her and her friend to go drive this road and take pictures of the beautiful scenery... It was so worth it!!!

Thumbs up

You have to drive it to believe it its awsome. It's US 129 through Deals gap NC. I rode it on my Suzuki Hyabusa, not in the SVX but I'm looking forward to the return trip next year. Bikers travel from around the world to run the dragons tail. Hope you get their. Attached is some unfinished work from my studio that I'm planing on marketing their next year.
