JayJay,

There is a burgundy 96 SVX LSi at Rafferty Subaru in Newtown Square, PA. This is suburban Phila. The car has 55,000 miles on it. I briefly saw the car about 1 1/2 weeks ago. It has some dings on each door. Other than that the car looked clean. Good luck in your search.

try to find one first...
test drive it...
get the feel of it...
then, follow your instinct.
Don't worry, it's not like getting married...
if you don't like it, you don't need a lawyer to divorce it.
Good luck Jayjay and welcome to the club.

Yeah you don't need a lawyer, you just need another one. See how I do it?

Mr. Jayjay - for you, an SVX will be the worst possible choice for an automobile you can imagine. Move on.

Ron.

Jay Jay,

If you want a used high performance, fun to drive car and don't have much $; then I do not recommend the SVX, most Porsches or Ferraris. IMHO you will be happier with somhing like a Celica, Supra, Miata, MX-6, Eclipse, Talon, etc. The most important thing that you can do is to try to find out the real histiry of the car that you are comttmplating buying. Good Luck.

I personally like the new Nissan Sentra SE-R spec-V. 175 horsepower, 6-speed I believe. I test drove one before I got my SVX last June. Very nice. The SVX is like a beautiful girl. Nice to look at, even more fun to ride/drive. But they can be heartbreakers.
So, like everyone else said, make a wise, informed decision. I think if you know what you are getting into, then when something does go wrong you can't really be that angry cuz it was bound to happen sooner or later.

if you're worried about $$..a possible good bet would be a later model Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX..it also has awd, turbo and it looks somewhat like an svx if you get a white one with a black cockpit...the replacement parts are a little bit easier and thus cheaper to locate...Squiggy
