B4 headed stateside

A new copy of Autoweek graced my mailbox today, and on page 4 is the announcement from company officials that Subaru will be bringing a version of the Legacy B4/Liberty over in the fall of 2004, probably as an "05 model. (The Legacy is scheduled for a redesign for '05).

The magazine says it will be with a 255hp twin-turbo 2.0 liter four. 0-62 in 6.5. Pricing is up in the air, but the magazine guesses about $33,500.

Still no word from the factory about the arrival date for the WRX Sti....

We now return to regular SVX business, already in progress...

Don

Hmmmm...B-4 Liberty. Sounds like a mythical WWII attack bomber. Or a freakin' Jeep?!

Sorry - Ron.

Thanks for the photos Lwin.
The B-4 Liberty is what we call a Legacy.
The Blitzen seems to be a Legacy that has been hot rodded.
Can you say "Chopped & Channeled"?

If the Blitzen were available

it could have found TWO spots in our garage. The Legacy GT didn't have enough acceleration for either my me or my wife. Therefore, VW and Infiniti got the sale.

@ $34K they can keep it.

Besides a 2.0 is still pretty small cubes.

I rather see a LPT 3.0 H6 like the GT30 they have in Australia now.

Subaru missed out on the name Legacy in Australia, as it was already registed by Legacy, an association that looks after war widows and kids. So it's Liberty down under.

That motor is not used in the liberty / legacy, still too much weight on the front wheels. Should have moved the diff forward. Could have put it in the Impressa then.

Harvey.
