Unhappy A/C question?????

My A/C is not working properly, When the weather is hot 70 or higher the A/c fails to flow cool air and I only get warm air. When the weather is cool like 45 degrees or lower then cool air kicks in. Has any one else had this problem? Thanks for any help.

Sounds like it's not working at all, the 2 most likely items would be:
low on freon
bad compressor

Could be a few other things, but these two are most likely

first thing, do a search and find the post(s) that describe the climate control diagnostic routine. it's free - see if that tells you anything before any other steps (do it in daylight or you will falsely get a 13 error code).

I think I might know why my A/C is not working, Yesterday I noticed that my AC compressor doesn't have any belts? But the a/C still blows alot of air? Could the belt be the problem?
Yeah, I know it sound pretty stupid but I do remember finding a couple of shreded pieces of a belt one day, but since I saw that the other belt (the serpentine belt) was there I paid little attention to the problem. I also remember that about 3-months ago the guy at Expressway told me that I should do my serpentine belt. So, what do you think could that be the problem, and what can I expect to pay for a serpentine belt replacement? Is that something I can do my self? Thanks guys

No A/C belt would be an obvious problem

Changing the belt isn't hard and doesn't need too many tools. You should be able to do the job yourself in less than 30 mins.

Does anyone have a part number for the A/C belt or a website where I can get from? Can some one place instructions on how to replace the A/C belt?
Thanks

Normally you would find all SVX parts listed at www.subaruparts.com but I'm looking there and can't find the belt. Anyone else know what category it's under?

Replacing is done simply by loosening the tensioner pulley and sliding off/on the belt then retightening.
