Cool

It's time once again for me to insert my semi-annual rant against the prime cause of ALL accidents.

Tailgating! No matter how fast I go, (within debatable reason) as long as I can't run into anything besides moose, deer & pigeon, I should be relatively safe. The idiot behind me who choses to ride my bumper, no matter what the speed, is 10 times more likely to create havoc in the event I have to suddenly brake in order to better check out a particularly sensuous pair of feminine legs.

And while I'm at it....It should be absolutely mandatory that all houses & businesses CLEARLY display their numerical addresses on or above the door that belongs to that particular address. We whine about cell phones & nose-picking while driving, yet most of us have experienced the frustration of trying to find an obscure address whilst motoring along an urban strip with cell-phoners & nose-picking drivers all around us. No wonder most of those urban strips have a body shop on every corner - usually with no address displayed.

Ron.

So they should follow further back? Is that so you can come to a more complete stop before they slam into you? Just kidding. Funny thing is, the closer they follow, the less speed differential there will be. It's kind of a double-edged sword. Plain and simple though, nobody should ever collide with another vehicle for any reason, and tailgating dramatically increases the probability of that. You are dead right about it being the prime cause, but I'd moderately suggest that it's only for most rear-end accidents, but they are entirely avoidable for this reason.

And regarding clearly posted addresses, preach it! "I don't understand why our place is so hard to find. Deliverymen are always getting lost." Ummm... How can I say this without sounding like I'm talking down to people? Post. Your. Address. Where. It. Can. Be. Seen. You'd think after the eleventeenth time they'd figure it out.

In most cities in WA, we are required to have an address number in 4" numbers posted where they can be seen very easily for Fire and Police to see. This also helps with deliveries. (I know Ron loves pizza with his Box-O-Wine and his delivery boy can't find him).

8 cars one cop

I"d say someone needed to fill his Quota.

HOnestly there is a point , the 30mph over.

Then there is another point it is after all a convoy of corvettes.
Would it be any different if it was 100 SVX's flying down the road in a flock????
WOUld he just grab one of us? or write 100 ppl a ticket.
if he likes his job everyone should get a warning.
NOthing like a bad cop.. NO doughnut for you.

Now I respect law enforcement. Do'nt get me wrong.
if it was just one or 2 cars.. yeah pull 'em..
but 8..
COps get paid very little for what they do, which is put up with a titanic load of crap off ppl everyday, get shot at and have to deal with the ugly side of life. 99% turn bitter before they hit 30.
HOwever after seeing SO many cops LIE ( state troopers) and LIE on the stand under oath, Lie about the speed my personal fav is ( ayou were doing 54 in a 45.
Yet they won't show you the radar or when it was calibrated.
oh and lets not forget how WELL cops love to think THEY KNOW THE LAW.
As one officer once said " we are police officers and we know things" He must have picked that one up from a cracker jack box... Now I mean no disrespect to any officers on this board.
I simply wish to put a light of truth. that some of your co- workers give you a bad name.....

All the talk of truth and justice you usually hear.. then why lie just so you can slap a charge on someone If they did it, they did it.... Don't go twisting facts.

Who has played Burnout 3?

That convoy would be worth a lot of points!

Vette guys don't care if they get a little ticket. They could have easily gotten away.

It came through the front window, through the car, and out the back window part way. She broke her wrist only because she was able to duck out of the way as the moose came through. It ended up part way in and part way out of the back window and on the trunk. It was not a small moose either.
Moose collisions are in the hundreds each year, and there are human fatalities.
Alaska ain't no playground, unless you drive a sporty AWD coupe.

I almost got busted the other day, but luckily I pay attention on the road and as soon as this unmarked Vic pulled into view behind me I kept pace with this van.
I had been spiritedly swerving to the head of traffic in the rain.
He pulled into the turning lane and we kinda glanced at each other.
He knew I knew, and I knew he knew I knew.
Oddly enough my friends are getting busted left and right.
