Allen wrench in armrest compartment?

Hey all, I was digging around trying to adjust my parking brake and took out the liner from the arm rest compartment and there was an allen wrench in there along with the 3 screws i was looking for. What is the allen key really for?

Sun roof. If it gets stuck, you can use it to open/close it manually.

Ah, can I use it to adjust the clutch nut too?

What size is the nut?

Thanks Lwin

I thought it was to return the auto seatbelt if they quit working, (That's what it's for in the XT6) maybe both?

Perhaps both but 94+ don't have auto belts. All the japanese cars that I have driven with sun/moon roofs have those things.

The SVX came with two hex keys, one in the center console and one in the glove box. One was for the sunroof, one for the seatbelt (my owner's manual is at home and I don't remember which was for which).

Why Subaru didn't just make the two adjusters the same size and make do with one wrench is beyond me, unless they thought it was a significant marketing point for a luxury GT.

a) No. The clutch nut needs a wrench.

b) I'd like to know that too. No sockets in my tool box seem to fit, and I don't want to risk enlarging that little hole in the headliner.

I'll echo Dick's assessment (according to the manual) that the Glove box hex is for the sunroof, and the console wrench is for the seat belts.

The reason you can't fit a socket on the clutch nut, is because (if you look closely) there are tabs bent down over the nut. The only way I've found to adjust it (which isn't much -- there is hardly any adjustment at all) is with plain ol' war plars.

Ooops. Sorry, Dick. I had just read Don Addington's post about the Railroad Museum in PA when I posted that. His name was fresh in my brain. Unfortulnately, it's the only thing that's fresh in my brain. I'll make the appropriate edit in my post.
