outback tranny in to svx?

im still looking for a manual tranny for my svx thats not $2500.

i did find one out of a 2001 outback. . .$600 . . . i did some research and i belive its off of an EJ253 engine

and some 1 said any tranny off of a EJ series engine would work. is that true?

Also that year the outbacks weight was over 3000 pounds would that tranny should be strong enough?
