Dealership Experience
So I took my car into the dealership for them to make sure my SVX was okay to go to the keys. I wanted them to tell me where the exhaust leak was. They told me it wasn't the exhaust, it was the water pump. So I buy a new waterpump, and once they have my car apart, they call me again and tell me it might not be the waterpump making all the noise, but a bad idler pulley. So I order one of those.... so then since the engine is apart they want to put in the water pump anyway for preventative maintenence, so okay fine. Then they tell me the middle timing belt cover is warped, so they need a new one.
So then, I get my car back.... I drive it for a bit, it starts smoking, and I pop the hood. Coolant everywhere. The upper radiator hose is BARELY on. The retard mechanic didn't put it all the way on the neck of the radiator before he clamped it. So I fixed that. I checked the coolant reserve level, and it was okay, so I figured I didn't lose much coolant. I drove my car again, and I almost crapped my pants as the temperature needle suddenly jumped into the 'red zone'. I pulled over. There was ZERO coolant in the resevoir, as the thermostat must have opened and sucked it all in. So while waiting for coolant, I noticed that the wiring harness protecting plastic piece near the alternator and AC compressor is smashed and installed wrong, and the fans ....argh.. one of the bolts holding my passenger side fan in is SUPER loose, and on the other fan they torqued it down so bad it CRACKED the fan housing. I am PISSED. - Rob |
