ABS Removal

i was thinking of turning my other svx into something i could use for track days, grass carners etc with the car club i belong to. ive had the car up for sale for ages and no bites at all. so its just sitting round and doing nothing so thought i mite turn it in to race car etc. its to good to wreck.
so plan is 2 strip it out to lose weight and do manual converson for it and play round with it.
was thinking i pull the abs out to save weight. Just before i do it just thought i ask some Questions . just wondering if theres much involved in doing that? is it as simple as ripping it out and plumbing the lines back in. is it ok to still use same brake master cylinder?
or is it better to use an wrx sti 1 etc?
isnt there an wee cpu or somthing that controls the abs and where bouts is that located?

Thanxs
