Selling my totally Original UK SVX

Hi guys,
I posted this on the For Sale section a few weeks ago but I think thats more for our friends the other side of the pond so thought I would put it on our side.
I have finally decided to sell my SVX although everytime I get her out of the garage I change my mind. However, in this credit crunched world we are currently living I can't really justify keeping her. I am therefore a bit of a reluctant seller and to be honest if theres not a lot of interest I'll wrap her up for the winter and enjoy the summer months.
I'll keep you posted if there is any interest and if anyone is looking for one but not quite ready to commit let me know and I can possibly put things on hold until you are ready.

I actually hastily put some wrong info down on year and mileage before so the correct details are as follows:-

SVX is in: Hertfordshire
Month & Year: June 1994
Model: SVX 3.3
Paint Color: Black
Interior Colour: Black (leather)
Miles: 67400
Options: Full UK Spec Cruise Control, Heated Drivers Seat etc

Asking price: £2,900

Pictures: attached

Cheers and a Happy New Year to you all.

Tim

Hello Tim

Best of luck with the sale. With your car being in such good condition and low miles it is worth the asking price. However, the market is flat at present, very difficult to achieve a decent price.

There is a roll-over jackpot in Ireland on the Lottery this weekend. If my numbers come up, I'll be on to you straight away.

Joe

Hi Joe,

I'll enter the Euro Millions lottery as well then and if I win, you can have the SVX for nothing!!
I agree its a very flat market but I still think there is a buyer there for my car as its such a good one.
Hope you are well and best wishes.

Cheers

Tim

Tim, that's an offer I can't refuse! If you win the Lottery, I'll take your car away for nothing! Out of your hair for good! You are on! I'll be watching the results carefully.

I am well Tim thanks and I hope all yours are also well.

Best of luck with the sale. That's a car that deserves an appreciative owner.

Cheers

Joe

Re: Selling my totally Original UK SVX

Joe,

Alas I didn't win but i'll keep you posted!!!

Whats going on with the SVX market? I have such a nice example that surely someone wants it. You're right though it does need to go to a good home. Actually, it has a good home now so perhaps I should just keep her under wraps for the time being......

All good with me, life's pretty good, son and heir just turned 2 but its still a struggle getting him in the back of the SVX which I try to do every so often. Hang on, I'll mothball the SVX and he can have it as his first car in 15 years!!

Cheers

Tim

Re: Selling my totally Original UK SVX

Yeah Tim, I didn't win either, but I'm keeping an eye to it!

I don't really know what is the story with the SVX market. It is highly possible that it is being afflicted with the general downturn for all high consumption cars since the changes to a CO2 basis were made to the motor taxation system.

Here in Ireland dealers have a glut of cars on the forecourts that they can't sell. Job market uncertainty is keeping cheque books in pockets.

No doubt it will lift at some stage, but for 09 at least I would not be expecting miracles. Keep the SVX and get use from it is the better option till things pick up.

Joe

Re: Selling my totally Original UK SVX

Hi Joe,

I have to agree and have put the wheels in motion to sell my wifes car and give her my main car. The SVX will then be my daily car for a while as I don't do a great deal of miles.

I am asking £2,900 for my SVX and if you look what's available in the second hand car market you can get a great deal for your money. I still thought there might be a SVX enthusiast out there looking for a nice one.

Cheers

Tim

Re: Selling my totally Original UK SVX

Well Tim, I genuinely think that is the correct thing to do.

It will be better for the car, as all cars improve for regular driving. It keeps them good.

You will get benefit yourself from daily use of a lovely and safe car to drive.

Under the present economic climate, there is no way that SVX values could rise over your asking price. In recovery they might only come up from the floor to that level.

You could get two years' driving from that car and probably at the end of that get your current asking price. What's not to like?

Joe

Re: Selling my totally Original UK SVX

Joe,

I agree with your cunning plan. Its a lovely drive so all I have to do is sell my wife's Honda CRV and we're in business.

If you do hear of anyone whose looking for a decent SVX please putthem in touch.

Cheers

Tim

Will do Tim.

They would be getting a very good car with your SVX.

You could try putting it on pistonheads (free) - www.pistonheads.com

And no Joe, I am resisting! Got to get my fix of German barges...even if I am running around in an LS400

Re: Selling my totally Original UK SVX

Thanks, yes I put it on Piston Heads but haven't had a sniff of interest yet.

No worries, I'll keep you posted on any interest and once this snow lets up I may even get her out of the garage and take her for a spin.

Cheers

Tim

Yes, had to lower myself to a Toyota

I forgot how good they were - very very quiet, great sound systems and goes like stink.

Which is always handy for overtaking too!
