CEL code 11: Crank Angle Sensor needed

1st: CEL came on. CEL goes off every time I start the engine but comes on after some time of driving. I suspect misfiring due to 7 years old iridium spark plugs in a daily driver.
2nd: days later, felt the car like intermittent oscillations on the wheel... like an unbalanced wheel but only when pushing forward. If I leave the gas pedal the vibration disappears. This oscillation comes and goes randomly. Consistent with a misfiring initially suspected.
3rd: code reading: 11 and 37 (crank angle sensor and O2 sensor left-hand side)
4th: swap O2 sensors left to right and vice-versa. If the code 37 change to 32 (right O2 sensor) then the LHS sensor is fried (now at the RHS position). A misfiring in any of the LHS cylinders might cause a bad reading in the O2 sensor. In this case, the code would stay 37 (LHS)
5th: read codes: 32, 11 and 37. The O2 sensors are on the way to me, so are the new iridium spark plugs...
Now I'm looking for the crank sensor 1... anybody has one for sale?

You can use the Crank sensor from a mid 90's Legacy or Impreza....same sensor, with a slightly different mounting tab, but still usable. Several Threads on it.

Re: CEL code 11: Crank Angle Sensor needed

An update: I pour a full bottle of Dura Lube Extreme catalyst and exhaust cleaner and after only 20kms, the Cell does not come on again. I hope it clears the problem until next summer because this is my daily driver and winter in Montreal is merciless with people without a garage, like me. Anyways, the car seems to drive like always, even if the cel is on.
