Our 96 Red Lsi TOTALLED!

It is with deep sadness to let everyone know that our 96 Red Lsi was totalled today, just 50 yards from our front door. Its my wifes personal car, and she also happens to be 2 1/2 months pregnant. She was a dead stop with her right signal on waiting to make a right turn, because there was another female driver in a 94 Lexus with her left signal on waiting for oncoming traffic to go by so she could make an illegal U-turn to pull up to the liquor store. Thats when my wife was rear ended by a 2006 F-250 4x4 pickup also driven by a female driver which was registered in her boyfriends name. The impact was severe as both the rear window and left side rear window were blown out, and she was pushed into the lexus and both airbags deployed. I just spent $1100 three weeks ago at Tom K's. house. The car was running great and looked great. Only 113k miles and just changed the oil on it last night. My wife had a few cuts on her arms from flying glass and a bruise on her cheek from the airbag, along with other bumps and bruises. She went by ambulance to the hospital and everything checked out OK, thank God. The car can be replaced as long as my wife and baby are ok. Anyone who has followed my posts on the red 96 Lsi that I bought back in 05 on ebay with a salvaged title knows all the BS I went thru to finally get it on the road in July of last year, the 14th to be exact. So almost a year to the day I finally got it fixed up and registered with a clear CT Title, its wiped out in a flash. I had the car towed up to a body shop five miles away that I know, then later find out theyve been vandalized recently for scrap metal. Vandals have been jacking up cars in the lot and cutting cats off. Im gonna make sure I can tow it to my dads house, since the engine is fine, just a cracked timing cover on the passenger side from something hitting it. There are too many good parts on it, interior is very very nice, ask Tom K he can vouch for me. Well my wife wants another Red Lsi, and its gotta be in great shape, so keep your eyes out for me. What a day!

That sucks... Glad your wife and the baby are OK.

Just think, it could have been worse if the structural repairs weren't made...

I know it's not an LSi, but it is VERY well maintained and is in great shape. I will even say that I like the L (engine rpm sensitive) power steering over the LSi/LS-L vehicle speed sensitive steering.

Glad to hear your wife and child are fine! It's a shame that that happened to such a nice car. Just another SVX doing it's job!

Re: Our 96 Red Lsi TOTALLED!

Check out the red one on Ebay for sale in Florida. If it checks out like it appears, make the insurance company buy it. It would be a better car than a northern car anyway.

Glad she/they was okay. As was already stated, cars can be replaced. How bad was it pushed up front? I'd love a perfect brilliant hood and pass side fender but I'm guessing they're toast with the bags coming out.
