Tom,
What solution did "the other Tom" have for this? The hockey puck sounds like it might work!

my only beef with Tom's method is that it is pushing up on the origonal busing. My setup will leave the stock bushing's location and will only improve instead of stress the old one. I dunno how good it is to stress the stock bushings that much for an extended period of time. not to mention regardless of how little it is moved it will push the front of the differential up further than stock as mine will remain in the same position

Tom,

Adding a hard 1/4" shim above the rear crossmember will effectively lower it from the factory position by a 1/4". I understand the benefit of adding a shim above and below the crossmember, but depending on how tight you plan on locking down the nut, it'll be next to impossible to get the crossmember back in the factory position.

Good luck! This is a great mod.

I measured my car today. there are equal gaps on each side of the bushing. Using bushings cut equally that merely stiffer the rear rather than compress it will allow me to keep the factory height and still have it tight. Using the bushing on the top and one on the bottom will also relieve the stress on the stock bushing that Tom's mod is placing. I just don't like the idea of stretching out that bushing and risk tearing it especially when the roads get salted and colder weather sets in.

It'll be nice to get your car back on the road. These cars are simply amazing and a blast to drive. I'm definitely looking forward to the cooler temps in the Fall. Should make for some quick times in the 1/4 mile! Good luck whopping SubaFreak on the 19th!

Well I think i am gonna call it a night. It is 20 to 1 Tuesday morning and I am tired. This is what I got done so far...

and

Yes I did realize I did not put the bump stop back in on the second one but I did put it in after I took the picture. All going well after my softball game tomorrow I will do the fronts and bring her in for the alignment around 3pm. I am off tomorrow so it will be non-stop driving around just for kicks

eh, who needs sleep anyway. It is now 230 and I have finished up. Now all there is left to do is mount them and head over to the shop for an alignment. I am not gonna go with any negative camber or anything as it will be driven daily and I don't need to run though tires once a month. Here is the finished product

Well, im getting a little antsy to drive it but sleep is what I actually need right now. Good morning to ya!
