transmission behavior - quick opinion?
I've been out of my SVX, and thusly out of an automatic transmission, for some time. Perhaps this behavior is more normal than I think it is....
When I'm driving along at road speed "35 mph", I notice if I let my foot off the gas, the transmission allows the motor to drop to idle speed (~600 rpm), almost as if I put the car in neutral.... (at night, this causes the lights to dim because of a slowly rotating alternator I assume) however if I step on the gas, it revs up to torque lock and powers the vehicle fine. I have NO shifting issues whatsoever. I DO have a power light flashing indicating a TCU error code I DO notice on a hill, even in drive, the car will roll downhill. This occurs in both reverse and drive. Stepping on the gas provides an adequate acceleration. I do NOT notice a higher-than-spec torque converter lockup. I did a transmission fluid flush and filter replacement which did NOT alter this behavior. Any opinions? I'm going to check the code later on, and I think it may be a line pressure error code (resistance issue), which would cause all of the above, yes? Should I be concerning myself with adjusting the brake band? Thanks folks.

Re: transmission behavior - quick opinion?
Check your transmission code and get back. That will help in diagnosing if there is a possible problem.

Re: transmission behavior - quick opinion?
yes by all means check your code. engine braking is controlled by tps and speed sensor input.

Re: transmission behavior - quick opinion?
I bravely took the car out after sitting last night for some highway time. Good news is the tranny/TC does see highway lockdown in 4th... must be something ridiculously simple. I still need to get that tranny code, just don't have a working printer at home for the testing directions and keep forgetting at work.... I will do it later today. (This is more a nagging on myself then anything)

Re: transmission behavior - quick opinion?
What they said.
You'll probably find at least code 11. When you're experiencing this problem do you have the shifter in "3"?
