Possessed blower motor
I've been having this problem with my car for years. It's getting worse. Randomly, especially when first starting, the blower motor shuts off and then will come back on a bit later. Sometimes it will just act spastic. Like for 30 seconds it will just cycle off/hi/med/lo/hi/lo/med/high etc. and then act normally. I have not done any diagnosis on this yet I was just curious if someone else had this issue.

Re: Possessed blower motor
Climate control module malfunction, possibly some moisture or something in there would be my best guess....

Re: Possessed blower motor
I had that problem. Probably just needs a bit of oil! When starved for oil the little rascal can hardly keep it's speed consistent.
Remove the 2 Phillips screws or with a screwdriver or a 5/16 nut driver... Drop the lower part off the bottom of the motor... protect the carpet from all the falling icky stuff... and get some good turbine oil in the bearing. Also make sure the electrical connection is clean and good! Reassemble... easy to get to and the easiest thing to do for your car! If this doesn't help and there is different problem, here is some consoling news! It was probably about time to oil the danged thing anyway! Keith |
