Radiator ATF fitting
Does anyone know where I can get the ATF fitting that screws on to the bottom of the radiator. The nut that screws on cracked in half when I was gently checking the tightness. It must have already had a stress fracture I guess. Im in the process of replacing the atf in and out hoses and clamps. Evidentally legacy radiators are different. Im not looking to buy a whole new radiator just to replace one fitting as the subaru dealer wanted me to. I havent checked local junk yards yet, but will do so tomorrow. I thought you could buy these in your local auto parts store, guess not.

If it holds coolant with out that fitting, I'd just switch to an after market ATF cooler and bypass the stock one...

Might have a problem with the bypass....

Mine is completely bypassed. In the winter I use a piece of plastic to block airflow over the cooler and it maintains the temp between 130-150*

ideal running temp is held by the Radiator... If adding a cooler it should pass through the external cooler first then to the radiator, then back to the transmission. This will allow the fluid to remain at operating temperature but not get too hot. Dave's suggestion will also work if the rad is having issues holding the ATF, in this case it is so an aftermarket cooler will be a suitable replacement.

Im NOT installing a cooler at this time. I just need that fitting in order to connect the atf hose so I can drive the car.

The SVX is more than likely a one of a kind thing, so finding a used one will prob have to come from an SVX... Best thing to do is pull the fitting and go to some local hardware and autopart stores to find a match
