RPM gets so low when drive slow
Hi all-
My engine runs fine but when I drive really slow like I'm parking or approaching to red light, meaning my foot is not on the gas pedal, rpm get down to like 100 or 200 sometimes and almost stalled. Never stalled yet, but I'm not surprised if it does. Some says it's vacuum hose. I checked it, it looks new, no crack found. When I use A/C it's OK, this symptom doesn't happen since engine runs slightly higher rpm. Maybe there's a simple way to adjust idling rpm? Any sensers to fix?? Thanks.

Low RPM
Hi Ryu, Sounds like your torque converter is not unlocking. Do you notice the drop in RPM's at about 40 to 45 MPH when slowing down? I would think if this is what is happening it would happen on an irregular basis. Take care, BOBB

Low RPM II
Hi Ryu, What I ment was if you are going along at say 50MPH your tramsmission should be in fourth gear and the torque converter should be locked-up. If you let /get off the gas and coast when you get to 40 to 45 MPH the torque converter should unlock and you should see the RPM's drop. If you don't see this then the torque converter is not unlocking and would result in "lugging" the engine as you come to a stop. The torque converter is probably just not unlocking completely if your engine is still running at all and not stalling. Take care, BOBB
