running unplugged

One of my 02 sensors went bad so I just disconnected them both until my new ones arrive, well I MUST SAY that this car has really come alive. For one thing I DON'T have to wait until warmup to drive the car just crank it and she is ready. How could this be is the ecu locked into a closed loop mode or something. The car really drive far better without the sensors.I wonder what is the a/f ratio without the sensors during normal driving and wot,the car just feels super strong,I can roll out slowly to about 30mph and stomp the pedal and the car jumps back to first and smokes the tires,I MEAN white smoke from both tires until it shifts into second.Any thoughts on this strange action,I may just leave the car this way and unplug the check engine light.

This is very interesting, keep note of your gas milage and post it. It'd be really cool if the ecu reverts to what the cars without 02 sensors have when they're unplugged

with the o2 sensors unplugged, the car will run directly on the map, no adjustments. This has its upsides and its downsides.

How have you been driving the car. Have you been very liberal with the throttle or have you been driving it around casually?

This seems like a good idea, but it may be a little to early to tell

Im curious of 0-60 times with and without the o2 sensors plugged in. Although it may be hard to tell when your smoking the tires at 30. lol

I have driven the car around town and wot from a 70 mph highway spurt up to 110pmh,the car feels more powerfull without the sensors. My 0-60 is somewhere around 6 seconds flat because my bubby has a real integra type R that run 14.6 with a 0-60 of around 6.2.We tried a little run with the new sensors in and he gets me by a half a car to 60.With the sensors unplugged I have him by a little well his front bumper is near my front tire, thats about a car differance I MUST SAY.Also running with unplugged sensors is a basic mod for the 280 turbo guys around here, but my sensors are plugged in now this thing sucks gas like no other.

So unplugged, it sucks a lot of gas. Now that you have plugged the sensors back in, it sucks even more gas? That last sentence kinda threw me for a loop and I guess I don't fully understand what you were trying to say. Please clarify.

I think I'm going to try this for kicks.

Maybe I'll drive to work tomorrow without O2s ...see how she runs.

Thanks for the tip
