Headlamp care
I just had my headlamps cleaned of the cataracts. Any suggestions to help preserve my newly gained cleanliness and visibility?

Yeah, don't use your headlights....ever!
Well keeping it out of the sun is probably the best thing you can do. The less heat the better.

I think driving with a blue car cover on would help - they say blue cuts out some of the Sun's damaging rays - just cut holes in it for the windshield like a "ghost" on halloween.

Along these lines, HOW did you clean them or have em cleaned? Mine are all yellowed and I want to clean them before I get my HID upgrade.

Another product that has been used with great success is Eagle brand small scratch remover. It does an incredable job using it on a rag and after a very short time they are completly clean and no yellow remains. You might try it first. I have used it and it works wonders.
Here is the link to where it can be purchased. Good luck. http://www.eagleone.com/products/pro...02&itemid=1056

Chrome polish also works great. A bit more bit in it.

I use the Novus 3-stage procedure. I think most can attest to its effectiveness.
The #3 is a deep scratch remover #2 is a fine scratch remover, and #1 is a clean and shine protectant. First clean the lens with the clean and shine, then, using lots o' #3 and some elbow grease, clean the lens in a circular motion, rubbing hard and making sure the surface is always "wet" with the medium. Let it dry to a haze, then, buff it off with a clean terry rag. Do the same with the #2 product. Then, spray on the clean and shine, wipe throroughly, then buff with a clean cloth. You'll be amazed at the results. You can also do the above with a power buffer if you're so inclined. All three of the compounds are available at http://www.jcwhitney.com Just do a search on Novus -- it's available in the 3-piece kit for around 15 bucks. Since it's forumulated for plastic, it's safer to use than, say, chrome polish or rubbing compounds, which are initially effective, but potentially harmful.

He said something LIKE blackout. You don't have to be a dick about it. I'm assuming he means some sort of clear protectant spray, similar to black out stuff only clear.
