Friday, Friday, Friday!!!!

I spoke to Ben earlier tonight and the message was mixed. The racecar was just getting its tires warmed up and was into the high 14s (14.8?). Tom was still working on his launch and was in the very low 15s (15.1?). Unfortunately, Jesse ripped a motor mount (?) and dinged his radiator on his first attempt, thus putting him out of the action
I'm sure they'll report out on the final results later tonight or tomorrow.

Melissa pulled off the best time in the racer at 14.7, Tom's best was around 15.1, and my best was a 16.1 @ 86.3mph

Now we just need the local weather and elevation info so Chike can do his "NHRA adjusted" times like he did for the Mason-Dixon meet!

Good work everyone!

In order to calculate the density altitude, I'll need the following weather info:

-Temp
-Relative Humidity
-Dew point
-Barometic pressure (in)
-Altitude of Atco (above sea level)

I won't be able to plug these numbers into the calculators until Saturday evening as the wife and I are taking the kids to a water park all day tomorrow.... The 95+ degree temps are going to be killer!

-Chike

MMMM.. Beer!!! Just made it home, hope the fixes for Jesse's meet monster go well tomorrow! Must get sleep. Still a little disappointed in Melis' times, still thinks with a cool engine she can be in the low/mid 14s though. Pat did quite well with his 14.8 considering the car weighed about 120 more with him then with Melis. I think Jesse had a 14.73 in it. We'll see how many stones the air filter picked up in the morning.

Nice to meet/see everyone again..it's always a pleasure.

Ben, sorry to disappoint you, but I'm possitive I would've had a better time if I got to run more than 2XS.

Jesse, good luck with that
TomSvx, again... very nice...got me wanting a set of those lights

Great job, everyone! Given the weather conditions - and the fact that I think ATCO is at or below sealevel - I don't think Chike is going to come back with much adjustment to the posted times (though the RH might help....). Can't wait to see the videos!!
-Bill (remembering that he did have his money on the racecar!! )

Thumbs up

Atco's altitude is 146ft http://www.placenames.com/us/p874410/
And according to http://www.modulardepot.com/density.php

That makes my best a 15.67@88.6
