Accosted at an ATM

Not me. I was actually the one doing the accosting.

Amber and I were at a drive-through ATM. Since we had met after work, before going home, we were in separate cars. She was at the ATM and I was behind.

I saw the always-familiar face of an SVX pull up behind me and I jumped out of the Justy, leaving the door swinging in the rain.

A young lady was inside, with the map light on, preparing for her convenient in-car banking experience. I walked up, leaned over, and she rolled down the window slightly. I don't blame her. If somebody jumped out of a car and walked up to mine, while I was in line for an ATM, I'd be cautious, too. No, strike that, I'd jam it in reverse and get the hell out of there, wetting my pants along the way.

Anyway, I told her that I also had an SVX, and the window went all the way down.

I briefly told her about the site, repeated the address a few times, introduced myself, and that was it. In hindsight, I don't know why I was in such a hurry. If I had taken a few more seconds, I could have thought to give her one of my business cards, with my email address. I didn't have any network cards with me, of course.

Well, Becky, I hope you remember the address I told you, and I hope you join!

As a side note, her SVX was a beautiful black over silver '92 with no spoiler. It seemed to be in really, really nice shape.

Amber had to make fun of me and ask if Becky asked why, if I owned an SVX, I was driving that nasty little Justy.

Thanks. Should I just hang out at that ATM until she shows up so I can give her a Network card?

I can just see Nick standing there in the rain with a trenchcoat and fedora, waiting under a streetlight by the bank. Waiting there all night until Becky pulls up and he comes running towards her SVX, reaching into his pocket for something....

Somehow I missed that thread! I just read the first couple so far, but I'll have to read the rest sometime. Good work from both Ardub and Pockets so far!
