Those bugs can go into hibernation for a few years, but they die with their host. It may be lying dormant (for now), but as long as you continue to participate in car/sports, sports/car, sporting car activities you're really not safe. The best thing you can do is to give away anything in your posession that is even remotely associated with sports cars. I would be more than willing to find a nice home for your SVX.
