I think too much of a big deal is made about the Torque Converter lock up. I have noticed it a few times but it doesn't bother me or detract from my driving pleasure. I would rather be safe than sorry.

Torque converter lockup is by design, and improves fuel economy by 30% or more in cruise, if my cars are typical. I find it hard to believe that there's any benefit to running a transmission below normal operating temperature.

just installed it....
i'm not so sure about the diverter valve since it's not very cheap...i may put one in the system if the TC lockup causes problems

another question...so i lost about 1/4 cup of oil...and the oil that goes in the cooler is lost too... do i need to add? (i know it seems a dumb question but bear with me on this)
and i drove it pretty hard to see if it's working properly or not...and when i parked, i noticed smoke rising from the bottom of the engine...is it just the oil around it burning? (since it didn't stop when i turned off the engine)

it's probably the excess oil burning off but if it doesn't go away then it's probably leaking. just a little bit of tranny fluid can create a lot of smoke.
