Top Gear USA

does anyone here watch it?

i was going through some threads on History channels website and almost everyone is bashing it....i like it i dont see why everyone hates it...i have a feeling it is because they are comparing it to Top Gear UK which cant be done or that will just ruin it for you...over the past couple of days i have watched season 1 again and i was laughing just as much if not more than i do when i watch TG UK.

i think season 2 is gonna be awesome! it airs July 24th if anyone is interested.

Re: Top Gear USA

i watch it, it got better as the season went along.

there aren't many car shows out there that aren't about lifting pick-em-up trucks or restoring some old crap muscle car.

Re: Top Gear USA

Went to a taping. Watched them all. Mostly "meh" but I thought two episodes stood out: the one about running moonshine and the one about how gm should bring back the roadmaster wagon.

I will watch it again. Watched "The Car Show" the other night and it was painful. More original than TGUSA but not a better show.

Re: Top Gear USA

The "Car SHow" is hosted by Adam Corrola on Speed. The first episode was decent, and they left themselves a lot of room for improvement. I still have it set in the DVR.

If you like Adam's humor, then you'll probably enjoy it. If not, give it a shot, there are a few other co-hosts...

yeah i wasnt a big fan of him even when he did "the man show"...but i have seen a lot of stuff out about Top Gear US...it seems they are really pushing it this season!!

there was a sneak peak about the first episode...the guys are gonna buy their first cars and then teach high school look a likes to drive them...sounds interesting

i dont think top gear UK did that which is a plus for people who think they are just gonna copy them

Re: Top Gear USA

I personally enjoy the UK one. Some episodes have me cracking up.

As far as the US one, the first few episode were not great, but it got better. I remember the station wagon and then the truck (Alaska) episode being better. I hope season 2 is better.

Maybe it is the "diferent breed" of cars that sets the UK version off as I would much rather watch it then the US version as well. The US guys are having issues with figuring eachother out and it seems that the writing is somewhat "forced" rather than flowing.

Re: Top Gear USA

I watch both but I was especially pleased to see the latest guest on the UK version. I've been waiting for years to see him on the show.

Re: Top Gear USA

I liked "Car Shows" challenge last night with Brian Johnson. I wish they would have given him a little more time though. He is an intense car guy and racer, and I'm sure he has lots of great stories.

I think they need to regularly have stars on that people may not realize are car guys.
