Any one wantz JDMz stoofz?

I got a buddy that imports stuff from JDM land and he looking for requests to fill his next container. Anyone have requests of things you want him to look for or procure? PM me with a list of wants and needs and I'll let him know and if he can find it/get it I'll let you know. Oh and if this is the wrong place for this MODs could you please move? Thanks.

Well not WHOLE whole cars but I think he can do clips and stuff too. If you are looking let me know and I"ll find out tonight if he does clips. Parts too. Really anything. he mostly just wants to make sure the next container isn' only 1/4 full.

I think it changes classifications...a whole drivable car is not classified the same way for importing and exporting. its not just how to fit it on the boat.

It is almost impossible to import SVXes from Japan.

ensteele: how did you try to do it again? I would think the Canadian importers would be the easiest way to do this... there are a few canadians here already with them.....

Perhaps w/ a canadian accomplice it would be easier?

The big loop hole of course, is Canada. We can import from canada just fine. but it has to be owned/registered/inspected as canadian first. which means who ever purchased it in the US has to basicly GIVE it to some canadian, and trust that once its COMPLETELY theirs, that they will sign it over to the US guy.

i'd be willing to act as a middleman for someone willing to undertake this grueling process (believe me, its no fun for canadians either)
but, having gone through the whole thing from scratch, i can safely say it would get easier every consecutive time

edit: im curious. what exactly makes it so difficult. what are the import laws, exactly?

Emitions and other regulations are the hardest thinga bout getting JDM cars in the US. Road compliance on most matters is easy but because it's so hard to constantly regulate they keep it hard so there aren't 500 whole cars every boat and they get swapped with work and have no budget to deal with the work load. So basicly it's all buisness. Most US people import clips and swap everything into a US legal chasis. Some illegally, some legally sp.
