Help finding 4.11 rear diff!
Hey all. For about a while now I have been scouring every salvage yard I can trying to find a suitable 4.11 diff to swap into my svx. I found a early 98 impreza 4eat with 4.11's with 42k miles on it for under $400 so I snagged it. Now I've been under legacys, imprezas, and a few foresters to no luck. All I seem to find are the screw on bearing carriers or 4.44's. I can find 4.44's all day, but no reasonable transmissions to go with, and with 100 miles round trip to work they really don't appeal to me at this point. I'm getting to the point of swapping my 3.54 front diff in just so I can get this thing back on the road, but I know it will kill this trans even faster.. Any pointers what specific cars and years might have the proper 4.11 for this swap, or anyone willing to part with one? Pretty please?

Re: Help finding 4.11 rear diff!
Thanks much guys! Fortunately I won't have to find out the hard way.. I found one today out of a 95 Legacy with a 2.5 and a stick at a yard in Milwaukee. I swear I must have covered half the state lookin for this stupid thing LOL! With that I'm back out to the garage.

Re: Help finding 4.11 rear diff!
Alright, got her done Sunday night.. Ran it on the stands for a bit to check for leaks and then changed out the rear fluid in case of leftover grinding residue. All checked out so I took her out and wow, I never knew shifts could be so smooth! My old trans even freshly rebuilt was never this nice! I am a bit disappointed though as I was expecting a little more of a performance boost, but hey, I'm just happy my car works again.. Oh and if anyone else is looking for a 4.11 rear they can be found in MT Impreza 2.5 RS's as well... Thanks to all who paved the way for these swaps!!!

Re: Help finding 4.11 rear diff!
I put this post up looking for info on a part, and to talk about MY swap, not this crap yet again. I don't know what happened with Budfreak and parts not getting shipped, and quite frankly I don't care. I asked for a part. A suggestion, and a warning were given. End of story. Richs1000 if you don't like it here, fine, don't come here. It's your prerogative. Everyone else, do the COMMUNITY a favor and make a separate thread or go to PM's, for your beefs, or better yet, just ignore the antagonists so when others come here looking for valuable info they don't constantly run into this kind of BS. I mean seriously, 90% of the time when I search for something I find half of the info I need followed by a dozen posts of mud slinging, and if I'm lucky I find the rest of what I need in other posts after digging through the mud for a couple of hours. It's really getting annoying, I feel like it's high school again, and I haven't been there in well over a decade. [Rant over]

What I don't understand is that if you hate this forum so much, why are you here posting? Are you only here to be a trouble maker? No wonder you don't like this forum. What have I done to make this such an unpleasant place?

Psychosis5150, my apologies for continuing this off topic discussion. You have a complete legitimate gripe.
