That was a wrong sort of question to pose for Alan, with what we know of his inclinations.....

Oh!, and , ah, if Alan is organising a meet anytime soon, count me in!

I agree.

It is extremely likely that the only SVX models that are limited are the parent JDM market models.

As B3lha points out, there is no limiter to be found in the ECUs.

The USA standard 3.545 final drive is the tallest final drive available, and the top speed limiting factor is how many revs the car can pull in this very high overdrive. I'm betting that all other SVXs equipped with lower final drives will achieve higher terminal velocities than the USA standard car under controlled measured conditions.

It would be interesting to check out what the actual difference would be. Why don't you guys arrange a meeting at some airstrip, and bring along a range of SVX cars that have different final drives, but otherwise standard engine output? [or otherwise the comparison would be invalid]. For a start, you certainly have a number of owners with OEM drive [3.545], owners with 4.111 and owners with 4.444. You may even be able to find someone with a Euro or JDM final drive [3.700]

Run against an accurate laser gun, that would be an interesting test.

Joe

Most current GPS's have the ability to give you an accurate speed, you could use that.

All my Subaru's are about 5% off - I use the GPS to set Cruise, posted speed+8%.
