Better than a Doughnut
I have 17" rims on my 92 SVX. Had a flat yesterday, hopefully it can be repaired and not cause me to purchase 4 new tires. Since i still had an OEM svx rim with a good tire on it i installed that rim once arriving back home. My feeling is it has to better than the doughnut. The 17" tire should be repaired and re-installed by tomorrow. I had the doughnut on until i got home and then put the 16 incher on. The car sure felt squiggly with that doughnut.
I only upgraded to 17 inchers what do you guys with the 18 & 19 rims use, the doughnut? If so i'm sure your vehicles feel even worse than mine did. I'd rather have the three 17 rims and one 16" rim than bother with the doughnut. Either way you wouldn't want to do this for a prolong period. If my Camry wasn't in need of brake pads (on order) the SVX would have sat...........

Luckily the tire was repairable so no need to buy 4 brand new tires. I also upped the tire pressure to 35F and 30R an noticed a softer ride. these are 17" rims. I may up it some more but right now i have other issues.

iv got a cut down matching 18inch rim 4 mine wth a 175/18 tyre on it so it will still fit in my wheel well, like all spares they should only used till the closest garage then get the normal one fixd , i feel safer wth the bigger spare as frm wrk 2 home is 160km without a garage and 90km of that trip is without cellphone reception,, plus have TWO torches in my car (read ur other thread sorry bout the bad luck) safety is always 1st.
