I can ony imagine what Kati is going through at this point.
Sorry to hear this Eric. As you say it does not sound good, unless he managed to meet a hunter or somebody in the wilderness who gave him a change of clothes.

Keep the prayers up until he is found.

It turns out, (and news sites actually corroborate this) but talking to a friend who talked to kati- she said that he was actually wearing layers of clothing, and had a backpack with supplies.

so basically, it seems he shed some clothing- either becuase it became wet/uncomfortable, or even perhaps because he wanted to leave a sign of his passing. the other items too may be a trail.

so this is actually GOOD news. its better than finding a body, because we know he is alive!!

i fear he is going to have to spend one more night out there, but i believe james will be coming home tomorrow.

what a story. james has been out there 10 days in the wild, with not much but his own wits to sustain him...

For all who were following, James was found dead this afternoon. Words cannot describe the devasation I feel. This was not how this was supposed to end.

I'm really sad to hear the news. A man, trying to do the best for his family, a real human tragedy. Warm thoughts to his family.

Sorry to hear this bad news Eric. As Ron says, a good guy who literally gave his life in an attempt to save his family.

Deeply, deeply sorry man. You have my good wishes and prayers in your loss of your friend, and let the family know our thoughts are with them.

Joe

AW ERIC, I am so sorry to hear this! IT was the first thing I heard when I turned on the news tonight. We will still pray for the family.

Sorry Eric. I was really thinking all would be well too. A good man has passed while trying to save his family and all of the world is in mourning for him right now. Give my best to the family.

My prayers and condolences for the family as well. The loss is only exagerated at this time of the year unfortunately too.

Perhaps someone should take up a collection. I'm sure the family will need all the help they can get in the coming months. Perhaps one of the Moderators so it can be officially sent from the network.

Hey- Thanks everyone. My friends and I are in kind of a state in numb shock at this point, took the rest of the day off yesterday to meet with friends- couldn't focus.

We do have a website setup at www.jamesandkati.com which is the official place we are trying to funnel messages of support as well as donations for helping the kim family, and specifically a newly widowed Kati Kim.

The only thing I can say is that, at least this is over and some of us can rest and grieve.

Anyway, thanks again all for your notes of support and like I said if you want to lend some support please check out www.jamesandkati.com . It's an information portal we put up from the beginning, and are using it now to collect donations for the kims. It's being run by Scott Nelson who is very close with the Kim family and lives down in San Francisco.

Cheers all-
Eric
