Thanks to svxcess

svxcess:

You probably don't remember me, but I met you at the Subaru Challenge last August when svxfiles was helping me with a problem with my air conditioning. Anyway, you recommended Five Star Auto Body. I had Greg repaint my barcelona red svx, and picked it up a couple of days ago. The car looks awesome; just like the day I bought it new 12 years ago! Greg did a terrific job and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a bodyshop in DC/Maryland area. My only complaint is I had to live without my svx for 3 weeks while he did the work. Driving a Pontiac G6 rental car was pure torture.

Thanks again.
Regina

i know the feeling i have been driving my moms car around for a week... its funny how every one says that the SVX windows "take some time to get use to" for me now i dont want to have any other style of window! the rest suck!

Thumbs up

Congrats, Regina. Greg did mine about four years ago, & it still looks as good as the day it emerged from the paint booth, less a stone chip or three.

Ron.

How much did it cost for the repaint and can you post photos? I guess it's much much easier staying with the same original color.

DanSVX96:

$2,600, which was significantly less than a couple of other quotes I got. Some body work was involved. There were 75 dings to be repaired -- Greg kept count; some rust on the driver side door; and my rear bumper was a mess. I will try to post some pictures this weekend, but am lacking in technical skills, so I will have to see how it goes.

I am glad to hear it worked out for you. It bet it is nice to have a nice paint job again. Now you will have to look out for all of those shopping carts that come out of no where.

Regina, I am so glad you were pleased with your results. Everyone at Chesapeake Collision (formerly Five Star Auto Body) is first rate. They are an approved State Farm Insurance shop, which means you don't have to go to an adjustor or have it inspected first. State Farm just pays for whatever Greg Dunivan says needs to be done; no questions asked. His rates are more than reasonable for the quality that you get. A while back he once said to me "If you can ever tell where my paint stops and your original paint begins, I will repaint your entire car for no charge." (In all his years, he has never had to do this)

His shop is very large, uncluttered, well lit and clean as any operating room. Paint booth and all equipment is state-of-the art! He has gone out of his way many times to insure that I was completely satisfied with whatever I brought to him.

If I ever get side skirts from K-Staff or stevbsy, guess who gets the job?

If anyone wants to contact him directly:

Ron:

Maybe it was because Greg has perfected his tecnique on SVXs. He tells me he has done 4; plus I think I understood him to say he had done svxcess's car 4 times! Either that, or next time send your wife or girl friend -- maybe girls get a discount.

Regina
