If my dad would let me ride his bike and if I didn't have to take my brother, I'd ride every day. Don't know how I'd get my parking pass on it though.

We don't have enough oxygen here to ride to work everyday.

I'm all for more motorcycles.

Hmm, never heard that excuse before! LOL

Still I call B.S. on that one I have ridden at 10,000 ft in Colorado. Not as easy as Oregon but it can be done.

BTW- I like the badge next to your name

I converted my VW rabbit to a diesel so I can burn waste vegetable oil. Ultimate fuel saver! No interior, A/C or power steering, the thing is so light I can lift the rear end off the ground.

Thumbs up

I used to....Get in the car, start it, then fumble around for the seat belt latch, fumble through CD wallet, fumble for match to light the cigar etc. Now I do all of the above....then start the car. I must be saving a gallon a year!

Some of you may remember a quaint & touching movie that came out in the mid '70s during the first great gas crunch (jacked up to 50 cents per gallon!!!) called "Pete 'n Tillie" with Walter Mattheau & Carol Burnett. One ongoing schtick in the movie was Mattheau's very anal next door neighbor who bought a VW bug, & ad nauseatingly raved about the fantastic mileage it delivered. For yucks, Mattheau & his son began to sneak over, & add about a gallon a night to the bug's tank. The neighbor now bragged daily that he was getting better & better mileage...now gloating up to 50 mpg!! Of course, they then began to siphon off the same amount nightly. Now the increasingly anguished look on the neighbor's face was worth the price of admission.

Ron (remember the days of cheap $2.00 gas...two months ago?)

yeah i remember when i was happy when it was $1.80 that jacked to $2.25 that it went down to $2 per gallon... thats how they do it, they jack and jack till everyone is about to snap then they lower it slightly... we will be happy when it lowers to $2.50 wont we??? its easier for the public to handle then sticking it to $2.50 and leaving it there.

its all the "see, it could be worse, and now your relieved it isnt" effect

Save money on Gas ?? How about leave the car at home and walk ??

But seriously we are on the verge of £1 per litre here for regular, which is about $5.25 per US gallon......... Premium is available for a, errrr, premium !! There have been various attempts by Joe Public at forcing the prices down, barocades at depots, refinarys etc, rolling road blocks, politically lobbying etc etc. But the hard fact is that fuel is just going to cost us more, sorry but that's the way it goes.

If it were your last ever gallon of gas, would you rather use it in a cheap economy car, or having a blast in your SVX ??

Phil.

I installed a fuel magnet on the fuel line. It supposed to help with fuel consumption. I do average 27MPG (highway) I drive over 200 miles a day. New cars have them installed.
