Question Rear Spoiler

I got a question if someone can help me out and at my age i can use some help, I got this 1992 SVX LS-L at least that is what i have been told, but it did not come with the rear spoiler on, I just bought a stock one and wanted to know what the size of the holes are, I know about the dimples, but the bolts are are bigger at the spoiler mount then the threads are so do i just make the top big and the inside dimples small for the screws, I have seen a lot of talk on the transmission with this vehicle, i got about 70,000 on it now now and have not had any problems but the only filter i know to be change is the internal one, I don't drive it hard but i do get with the program on the highway,Sorry about the lenth of the post, if you don't ask you never know,
Thanks

See Bwana's post for the spoiler mod. which moves the spoiler back from the stock location about 2". If you like it, this would be a good time to do it, since you don't have holes in your decklid. Otherwise use his information just like it is.

Don't forget the protector seal around the bottom of the spoiler where it attaches to the trunk lid to seal out moisture. It is like a thin strip of black rope caulking

Welcome to the site Art.

I don't remember the bit size that I used, but it was just a little bigger than the bolts. Before you mount it, you may want to do a search on the spoiler being mounted about 2" back from where the dimples are. It looks different, and you may like it or maybe not.

I would put a filter on if you don't have one now. There was a filter that Subaru put on some of them that is just below the battery. If you have one, I would replace it if you don't know when it was replaced last. If it is not there, you can buy one like the PermaCool filter which screws on like an oil filter. Good luck.

Hello Art and welcome to the site.

I have moved my spoiler back two inches and like it very much. There is one drawback to it. The spoiler does not sit perfectly flat on the deck lid. You can not see it from a distance but up close it look a little off.

As far as some of the other stuff check out these pics from my locker. Mods

Enjoy
Steve

I looked at the original thread with Bwanna's spoiler mod. Looks very nice.

I am envious. I love my LGT but would like an SVX also.
