Think I know whats up,

Something in my gas tank. I posted this somewhere but it only does it under a ¼ tank of gas and then a few times after I fill it. Was talking about dropping my tank but right now I dont have the time. Trying to get the XT ready for winter and the roof on my house is giving me issues. Well not as much as the builder is. Looks like it might be a court battle.

Oh well, that belongs on a different forum. LOL!

From what I unserstand there are certain model legacy and maybe even imprezzas that use the same MAF...If you can get to a junk yard try and match the #'s on the label

Has anybody found a solution to this stalling / loss of power for 1/2 a second problem ?

Mine started doing this last week, actually stalled quite a few times too. Check engine light did not come on, so after reading through the forums it sounded like either a TPS or MAF problem. So i pulled both off, sprayed them down with CRC cleaner, slapped them back in and things got amazingly worse ! Now it runs like crap, seems to keep loosing power, but it hasn't stalled out on me yet. CEL came on and showed a TPS code (31). Pulled it off again and checked to see if resistance changes smoothly and it does, so now i'm stumped.

Maybe a bad ground somewhere ? I started the car and wiggled every harnes/wire i could find in the engine bay and under the dash and nothing happened.

Anybody know where i can find the electrical schematics ? All i can think of is tracing the TPS wire and see

I also read somewhere that somebody had to solder something related to the MAF. Was this soldering done on the wires going to the MAF ? or something inside the MAF itself ?

Any other ideas from anybody ? Sorry for the long post, but i'd like to get the beast up and running. Its my daily driver.

Thanks

you solder the 4 connections under the hatch on the MAF... The rubber sealant needs to be removed in order to access it

The numbers are similar on the legacy and its very close as I only have a slight power cycle at 1600-2000 rpms just enough to notice up and down. Fuel econmy has gone up
