Ben,
Killed me is putting it lightly I worked the grid for Mike's run group....he's definitely a very good driver!

Bill, what place did you finish overall in G-stock? You said your fastest was a 67. What kinda times did the other cars in your class run? Who ended up winning the class?

Chike,
13th Garfield won, as usual...
I'm still pissed about my driving....having had time to cool down a little, I now realize that I just flat out "over drove" the car (basically driving the car past its limits, thus having to spend extra time bringing it back in line). What really drove this home was watching Mike Louie's video -- his "gliding" through the course was in strong contrast to my "sliding" around at least 4-5 sections of the course. Now I've got all off season to burn the "slower is faster" mantra into my brain!!
-Bill (new autoX poster boy for "Faster is Slower" )

61.256 - Garfield's winning time
66.311 - "slowest" MINI time
67.923+1 - my "fastest" time (ignoring the cone, of course... )

and just for Ben --

'Street Touring (Tire)' - Total Entries: 19 Trophies: 3 Times Total Diff.
1T 9 Louie, Michael 1991 Honda Civic Si Teal 62.916+2 62.163 61.589+2 62.185+1 62.163 -

note: Mike's time would have been good for second place (by ~.3) in GS

13th Bill? I finished higher in PAX last time out . Yeah he is a silky smooth driver. Its even more amazing being in the car with him while he's doing it. He'll hold a conversation. Wave to people on the course etc and still manage a very good time. I too still need to learn not to overdrive the car. Bad thing is its so much fun to do a power slide in an SVX with race tires!!!

Harry-

I'll be there if it makes you feel better

This Sunday's race comes the day after the Baltimore Marathon, so it will be a victory for me just to get in and out of the car I may drive Liz's Jetta just so I don't have to shift gears...

Harry, I'll probably stop in at the next Winchester event on the 16th as I'm camping down in New Market. Probably won't be until about 11-12 so of course I won't be running, besides, provided I make it that far on my tempermental cycle that I can't replicate its mysterious dying issue I have a feeling everyone would frown on an idiot trying to run the course on a 22 year old heavy as heck Honda Nighthawk without body armor. I just wanna see Rufus in that beast of his killing cones and of course soak in some autoxing karma from everyone else.

I wish Harry. I'm in the midst of doing some upgrades on my car in preparation for drag racing this Fall. As a result, my car is up on jackstands over the weekend!

Ben,
Couldn't agree with you more Sucky times aside, I did have fun with the course - it was definitely adreneline pumping!
-Bill
p.s. checked the "official" times this morning and my first run of the heat was beating the "slowest" MINI untill his last run!

Yes, Bill. The leaves will have turned by then and maybe fallen off . So bring the wife. Fun for the whole family - lunch at Sheetzs just up the road.

You "GOTTA" make the last one - you promised, remember?

And this should be a good one with the points situation, however, I do believe RUFUS has first place sewed up for the season in his Audi. He has been strong ALL year! We're looking for you this weekend,MIKE!!! We'll help you in and out of the car!!

Looking for you too, Ben. And it would be interesting to see the bike on the course

Mike,
Are you a wimp? You don't use your legs to shift - do you? Oh yeah, the clutch thing.....

See you there - you gotta get a few more points. And while you are running on Sat, I'll be napping and resting up. You know how much rest we old guys need .....
