http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=850000

I saw that on NASIOC as well. Very impressive on a 2.5L engine!

That's almost unbelievable. The MEP for that dyno run is 18.75 which is significantly higher than any other MEP I've ever seen. A 350Z in top tune has a MEP of about 15.

I heard they were using race gas, but thats still incredible. I just wish more poeple built NA subarus. expecialey the eg33

There only running 11.2 to 1 compresion I wonder if it would be possible to run on 91oct.

It really makes me want to build the eg33.

Agreed. It really makes me want to tinker with our motor.

They estimate the 2.5L engine is making 302 hp and 276ft-lbs at the crank - that's 120.8 hp/ liter!!!

If the same could be duplicated on the EG33, it'll put out 398hp. That'll be in C5 Z06 territory!!!

I dont even need that much, i would be happy with just 330hp . Maybe i will try a NA build instead of tubro. 11.2 to one, hone out the cylinders to acept ej25 size pistons, cams vavle spring, full exhaust. Ahh i cant wait till i have money.

You mean not without a lot of boost. When the Mitsubishi 4G63 starts to reach the upper levels of the horsepower stratosphere they are often times using specially designed and prepared HKS turbo's pumping around 27+ psi of boost. And then the owners swear they drive them daily. You can often times hear these EVO's coming from several block's away. My son [who still lives with me] has one such friend who is not allowed to visit after 7:00 pm..

Ive heard of many 4g63s that are well into the 30PSI range, and are suposibley dailey driven. But then look at the U.S. STi ej257 an average tune with a decentley larger tubro also runs around 25PSI plus.

No doubt. I have heard of a gentlemen of middle eastern dissent who builds limited production STi's only in red that are backed by the full Subaru factory warranty running on 93 octane pump gas that dyno at 400 hp. I'm sorry his name escapes me at the moment. But if I can located the magazine article [if I haven't thrown it away] I will post more info on this amazing car along with his company name.

You mean esx motor sports yeah the limited run of red STis. There kind of pricey 50K+ for what he does to them, full exhaust and tune, paint, and a redone interior.
