Go with the WRX tranny, it stronger than the RS tranny (arguably) and uses the stronger pull type clutch (arguably) Plus there is no need to change the rearend gears over (huge time saver).

The gearing in the WRX tranny will be fine for the SVX, there is probly not much difference overall.

If you were to take mine or GreenMarine's SVX for a ride you would probably agree that the 3.90 gears are plenty fine.

Well the WRX tranny has already been sold so i will going with the 4.11.
I am now considering ACT's street clutch and flywheel.

More Questions...

Does the aftermarket flywheel have to match up with the tranny or engine or both?

Any suggestions on:
Pedals
Master and slave cylinder
Crossmember

Wiring...which ones do i use? And are any modification to them required?

What computer do i use to bypass the auto tranny starter?

As you can see i need lots of info. Just want to make it as smooth as possible.

Thanks.

You'll need to match the clutch and flywheel to the type of tranny being used. (No probs with matching to the engine.) You'll need to tell ACT what model/year car the tranny is out of.

Safest option for pedals, slave/master cyl, and x-member is to get them out of the same car model/year car that the tranny came out of. Maybe someone here with more knowledge on cross-compatibility can give more details on what model/year cars can be a donor.

All the wiring info you need is in Huck's writeup.

Another week or so

So the 2000 impreza tranny with an ACT clutch are going into it and it should be ready soon.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm going to create a locker with the swap and additional mods when it's ready.
