I'm anal, are you???

When it comes to my SVX, I'm uber picky about the way it looks and runs. Just wondering how each of us reacts to they way our cars look. Mostly just pet peeves.

My biggest pet peeve on the outside is waterspots and general dirty appearance. I wash my car every other day (seriously), and clean the wheels every other day.

Inside, trash and dirt/road grime. I go through Pepsi like it is going out of style and there are a few bottles on the passerger floorboard. And road grit everywhere. I must vacuum at least twice a week, and dust the interior once a week.

ever go to www.autopia.org? You'd probably like the site. I know myself & Earl (ensteele), not sure who else, go there from time to time. BTW, The detailing book is very good and worth the few bucks it costs.

for fluids, i.e., ATF, oil, brake, etc., try theoildrop.server101.com (note, no www in the front)

Significant Technical Input
Speaking of which

First: Yup, I like my car clean. Like my house. And my waitresses.

Beyond that, am I missing the boat here or can someone explain why good old saddle soap takes such a huge back seat to Lexol, polyrazzmatazz, et al? I mean if it's good enough for a thirty thousand dollar saddle shouldn't it be good enough for a ten year old car? It cleans well, looks nice, is cheap, well proven, leaves the seats soft and lasts quite a bit longer than anything else I've tried. It also leaves a nice feel to the steering wheel, something the sprays don't do.

I have tried many different products, but I had forgotten about saddle soap. Gosh, why didn't I think of it? I do use it on my saddles. Just didn't put my car and the saddles together I guess.

I'm anal about my baby, but not so much in the clean way. I am in the car way too much to keep the clothes and school books out. But i can not stand when people are near my car, i always park where i can see my baby, and on several occasions questioned people that were just standing near the car (everyone is a suspect). Just as long as no one actually touches the car, i'm good.

oh yeah, btw, when i spoke with a few of you at the mini meet in orlando, ya'll gave me a tip of what to use on the black part of my car to get those scratches and smudg-ey looks off. What product was that again?

I usually wash my car everyweek and vacuum it. Cars like these should be kept clean all the time. Gets alot more attention that way....and if it looks clean all the time it looks like one of those cars ya just take out on sunday

I have one ding in my driver's door. Bugs the hell out of me. Don't know if it's all that noticeable to anyone else, but I know it's there and can't help but see it.

I think my car looks younger than its years, but it certainly has its share of real-world blemishes. I shake-out the floormats, give her a wash and hit the high spots with wax every week or three, but I'd lose my mind if perfection were the goal. She's a driver, not a show-piece.

Appearence is always a good thing, but my concerns for the SVX tend to be how it runs, especially after dark.
