Great Idea for NY, NJ, CT, PA meet 11/13/04

I just thought of a great location for a meet that would be convenient for most NY, NJ, CT, & PA SVXers. Mighty M Gaming just opened a new Casino at the Monticello Raceway in Sullivan County, New York. It is not a full casino (they actually call it a Racino because it is at the track), however, they have installed over 1,800 of the latest video slot machines that you can play for any denomination from 5 cents to 5 dollars.

More importantly, they have a humongous parking lot which has been freshly blacktopped no more than 2 months ago. You know how cool a bunch of SVXes would look parked beside each other on that fresh blacktop.

Anyway, the Racino is open 7 days a week from 10:00AM to 2:00AM

I am up in that area almost every weekend, so if any of you want to make this happen, then join this thread and we can get it done.

If it looks like a go, I'll have my friend check with the management to see if we can get an "SVX reserved" section roped off in the parking lot for whatever date we agree upon.

1. "I need my SVX fix." (when they haven't driven it for awhile)
2. "I need my SVX fixed." (when it must go to the shop for repairs)

Do you have to be 18 or 21 to gamble there?

You only have to be 18 to gamble there. They do check ID's at the door for young looking people.

Travel Directions

In response to all of the questions re: where in NY is it, how far is it, etc. here is the answer.

Mighty M Gaming is located at Monticello Raceway, in Monticello, NY. It is right off Exit 104 on Route 17 (Quickway). It is probably about 85 miles from the George Washington Bridge. Most people take the NYS Thruway to Exit 16 (Harriman), where you pick up Route 17 West (the Quickway) to Exit 104. Or you could always route your trip using MapQuest!

Proposing a tentative date

Why don't we shoot for a tentative date of SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 13 2004 as our starting point. Let's see how that date works out for everyone, and then we'll go from there. We can use 1:00 PM as a suggested meeting time and adjust, earlier or later to allow those with the longer trips ample travel time.
