I've never heard of these but they sound like sweet tires. Bridgestones were the stock tires for the SVX (Potenza RE950, I believe). I had Bridgestone RE910s on mine when I first bought it. I loved 'em, but, they were only T Rated, and though I rarely exceed their 120 MPH limit, I just didn't feel comfortable with the Ts, when Subaru recommends a minimum V ratiing.

These Turanzas are quite pricey, but, if you've got the "skins" do it. Then, report back. The most popular tire among members here is the Yokohama AVS db. And there's ONE member who swears by TOYO PROXES! (inside joke).

I'm about to purchase a set of LS-H tires for a Subaru Forester. After talking to the guys at Tirerack and reading a lot of articles, the Bridgestone LS series seems really good. Consumer Repots last month tested them and said that as they wear, they do not loose as much wet weather grip as other tires due to the
UNI-T AQII technology. I can't remember the exact numbers, but they were like 15% better in the rain than similar non AQII tires. The difference betweenthe LS-H and LS-V is the speed rating (H vs V). They also have LS-Z. The SVX should use the V or Z versions.

Stock tires for the SVX were I believe Bridgestone Potenza RE75, a tire that has been discontinued for some time.

The 950 is their new top line sport All-Season, a fantastic tire in my opinion. It has served me very well.

I haven't used the Turanzas myself but I hear they ride very well but do not corner quite as sportily as the higher end Potenzas. It could be an excellent tire for the SVX.

I just put 4 Yoko AVS dB S02 tires on my '92 SVX because the Conti Extreme Contact tires were not available. I have only put about 1000 miles on these tires. They handle very well in both wet and dry. They are very smooth riding. They are slightly nosier than the original AVS dBs. They are quieter than the Dunlop SP-5000AS and the Yoko AV-440H.

The Turanza Tyres that I have seen have been made in Poland, Not what I would call the sharp end of tyre technology. Reports of howling at low speeds. I use Bridgestone SO2, Z rated, handle great, Safe as a bank in the wet. Long wearing, cost a mint. $AU285 each.

Harvey.

The AVS dBs cost $110 each plus installation.
Lurker, I notice that you live in Rochester, NY. These Yokos are not rated well in snoe. I found the original AVS dBs downright lousy in snow. I suggest the Conti Extreme Contact tires which are rated much higer in snow or real snow tires for winter driving.
Good Luck.

LarryIII, It's quite irronic that you mention that you newer tires AVS db's (assuming that they are the S2's) seem more noisey than the previous set. I noticed the opposite. I can't imaginge another tire on the market to be as quiet as our Yoko's!

AVS dB S2's are just a tiny bit louder than the original AVS dB's that came on the car when I bought it. I found that fact interesting also. The S2's are still super quiet campared to other tires of the same genre. I think that the slits (grooves) in the tread on the S2' are slightly wider than the ones on the original AVS dBs. That may account for it.
I can't imagine that my hearing is getting better as I get older.

Good Luck.
I'm not looking to drive my SVX in the snow, however. Pretty soon I'll be buying a winter car. Something cheap.
