What's the part number????
I'd go $100 easy. We could send it around like a chain letter? "Forget to send the tool to the next person on the list and your tranny fails" Spooky Collins 92 pearlie |

Highest temp I saw from the trans was "+209", whatever that means. I dunno if it means 209 higher than atmospheric, or just 209 higher than zero, or what. My lock-up solenoid seemed to operate normally even when the temperatures went up... and I beat the snot out of mine. Mine steps up gradually to lock, you can watch it on the graph in real-time. It's very cool, and as you watch it you become aware of the tiny changes in engine feel as the lockup solenoid engages and the rpms drop to match. We also discovered this weekend that my auto is faster than GreenMarine's 5 speed. Hehe... Last edited by Porter; 08-19-2003 at 10:09 AM. |

Hey man!!!! We never raced.... You just said that it felt like it pulled harder... Wait till I get the suspension and a cone filter like yours in it then we'll probably see you retract that last statement... I'm going to the 1/8th mile track in GA this coming weekend... I'll post a time... Just want to run one or two to see if the Auto is really faster than the 5 speed...

Haha, I was just funnin' you man. Your 5 speed is SWEET. When you took off from the house Jess goes, "Wow, that sounds just like a sportbike!" Maybe she'll give her stamp of approval on some exhaust mods...

So that lock-up solenoid voltage is at one of two values and never deviates from those two? +209 seems to be about right. A temperature of the fluid out of the TC to the cooler would be nice. Maybe 15 to 30 degrees hotter than the +209F. What do you mean He can't shift? Oh what? You put 4.11 diff's in. Right?

No, we just noticed mine seems to pull harder in gear. Mine has a MAF adaptor with a double cone filter clamped on, it flows a lot of air. So much air that I've actually hit fuel cut from the MAF voltage spiking. Sounds WICKED at WOT in the midrange. If I leave it in 2nd and run at medium-high rpm (4500+) it'll really jerk your spine if you jump on the gas from a gentle decel. Maybe it's because I redline it every morning on the way to work.
As for the solenoid voltage... the lockup solenoid is at "low" position most of the time, then it steps up the voltage linearly over time to full lockup... it's a variable voltage deal. It takes about 10 seconds to go from zero lockup to full lockup. If you make a sudden accel or decel change, the solenoid jumps back to zero lockup immediately. |

Jason - Can you hop on that 4 wheel dyno and get some numbers on the effect of that intake? Sounds pretty cool!
