another royal pain, rear differential seal

If I am looking at this correctly, it seems to me that I have to pretty much yank the rear differential to replace the seal.

Is there a trick? It looks like the two studs running through some part of thesubframe have to be removed, but run all the way through to the diff. Well they arent coming out, and the only way I see, is to drop the entire diff...

What a PITA if that is the case.

Just thought I would vent, and maybe someone has a trick up there sleave?
