thats harsh stuff. sounds too terrible to be true. a friend and i had our eyes set on some rims from these wheel max guys. i guess the prices and shipping attracted us.
thats probably a good reason to look elsewhere.
just give it time. youll get what you want.

Another thing, nowhere on there does it say that they charge extra for mount and balance. But they sock that to you right at the end.

SVXGirl,

First calm down. Don't let these crooks raise your blood pressure.
If you paid by credit card you will be ok. First figure out where their warehouse is located in relation to your location. If they are about half the country away, allow about a week for the wheels to get to you unless you paid for express shipment. If closer, send them an e-mail telling them of the trouble you have been having with their customer service and if they do not reply within 3 working days you will have your attorney send them and their local and state Better Business Bureaus. After 3 days contact your credit card company and put a hold on the payment.
Let them take you to court to collect the $100 cancellation fee. Keep all records and converse with Wheel Max only in writing not by phone. Be polite, courteous, and firm in all your correspondence. Good Luck.

Good call, larry3

I just did this with another firm. (web host)

Lots of companies are using the Dell method of business. Which is get the money, order the parts and then ship once they've got em (or drop ship, even better). Amazon still does not bill till shipped but that's becoming rare. Wheel Max's supplier is more than likely back ordered on your parts. If you cannot get a tracking number, dispute the charge. You have 30 days from the time you get your bill (your state may vary) but do not wait. If you really don't want to do business with these people get them to fax you or e-mail you the status of your order with a tracking number. No contact, Write them and use the words "Mail Fraud" always send corespondence certified with a return receipt, (about $4.35) worth every penny. best of luck. We're behind you. Tear 'em up!

When you dispute the charge, the bank /company, will want records of all communications with the company. The more you have the better. Include time, date and person you spoke with on your phone list. Physical mail carries the most weigh with these folks.

Actually, they don't drop ship. The delay is caused by the mounting and balancing being behind. They run one huge sale after another and that's how they get behind. But they should be able to forsee that and be ready for it.

Funny thing, I was browsing ebay looking at tires and came across one guy who puchased a wheel/tire set from wheelmax. He says they sent him the wrong size and that they would not accept them as a return. This seems like a never-ending story.

we have no such policy..

funny story about "wheel dorks"....
I had a customer order some Tenzo rims from me...
3 weeks later, I didnt have them, Tenzo was out..
I even called Wheel Max figuring if they had what I needed
I would get them from them just to make the deal and keep
the customer happy. First time I called they said they had them, then I called back a few hours later, and they now DIDNT have what I needed....They told me Tenzo was out and it would be a few weeks ( duh, I already knew that....) it was worth a shot.
THEN, a few days later the customer and his dad comes in my shop all pissed off at me cause I dont have his rims yet.
I called Tenzo and put my salesperson on speaker phone where the customer heard straight from the source, they didnt and wouldnt have the rims he wanted for 3-4 weeks.
The customer says "wheel max has them, Ill just order them there" I said, really....lets call them too and put them on speaker phone. I call and I Identify my shop and ask some ding dong if he had these 17" rims we needed, he comes back with "yes, sure do!" I then said, let me talk to so and so your boss, ....he gets on the phone, I ask HIM if he had the same rims, he says, "no Dayle, you called a few days ago about them and I told you we didnt"
All the while the customer is standing there listening to this
on speaker phone.

So I then proceed to tell the boss guy his sales people are telling my and his potential customers that "they have them in stock!"
He apologized and said hed take care of it....
This was about 2 months ago......
Grass isnt always greener guys and gals, and most people who do mailorder only businesses are run by idiots with bad customer svc skills and only care about making $$......
Svx girl, good luck......you may lose $100 but chalk it up to a lesson learned.
My advice from a business owner, if and when you call them, be firm but nice, and dont make it sound like you are attacking them.
It will put them on the "defense" and they will help you even less.
If they charge your credit card, you can always dispute the bill, but its a long shot.
