Suspension parts question
As part of the restoration of my SVX, i've been trying to restore the suspension. I got the AMR Engineering struts but I still have a lot to do to get the car back to a comfortable driving experience.
That being said, Nate has already mentioned that my front sway bar bushings were shot so i'm going to order new ones for that. I've also ordered the 15/20-min mods from Tom (thanks Tom for that), but are there any more parts that I should get? I was trying to figure out if there were any other rubber parts that probably should be replaced from the pics on subaruparts.com and saw there are also rear bushings that I should probably replace but anything else? If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Also, if you happen to know the part #'s for those, they would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks!

Re: Suspension parts question
I've found the rubber bushing in the SVX to be quite robust. Part of this is due to their geometry - they don't suffer from too much motion compared to other car's setups. One thing that was really hurting on my car was the rear diff bushings. This is exacerbated by the fact that I jack my car up by the diff, putting lots of load on the bushings in a direction they were never intended to take. While there may be replacement options out there I wasn't confident in being able to remove the old bushings cleanly without causing too much trouble. Solution: buy windshield urethane from a local glass shop ($15, fits in a caulking gun) and fill in the voids of the bushing to strengthen it.

Re: Suspension parts question
Oh that's a good idea! I hadn't thought of that. I'll take a look at them this weekend and see how bad a shape they are in. That might work until I ever decide to replace them outright. Thanks for the info!

Re: Suspension parts question
Nice, I didn't know they had struts. Too bad they don't make them for the SVX. I wonder if these would work on our cars?

Re: Suspension parts question
I used a Whiteline kit and trimmed the inserts to fit the diff and subframe bushings.
Used this write-up to do it. http://www.svxworldforums.com/forum13/1965.html
