rims on backwards

Ok so as we all know we have directional rims that have a right and wrong way... and every ones favorite thing to point out is when the stock rims are backwards... my question is... does that really make a diffrence? i mean REALLY? is there figures to prove it? what exactly does putting the rim the right way do any way?

The story goes they are specifically designed to cool the brakes.

This has yet to be verified.

I don't think it makes any difference that would affect the performance of the car. FHI designed the car with the wheels in a specific rotational pattern giving two of the wheels a raised letter "L" to designate these two for the left side of the car. Since the SVX most often is equipped with "directional" tires (designed to rotate in one specific direction), getting the tires mounted on the correct wheels provides a quick visual reference. My problem is that when I see a SVX with wheels on the wrong side, I wonder if perhaps the tires are also rotating in the wrong direction. If so, I further wonder if the owner is aware of the AWD sensitivity to tire differences. If the wheels are on wrong, its snowing and the windshield wipers are in the summer position and there's a ".......'s do it ......." bumper sticker, I suspect ignorance. But that's just me - I could be wrong.
